Tasting:

We have had this wine and this vintage before (see our review: Vallana Boca 2011); however it was so good and such an outstanding value Nebbiolo that we are going a step beyond the norm and do a second review. The basics are the same as we described in the March 27, 2020 review, but it’s such a fantastic value we wanted to emphasize it. This wine has all the good characteristics of Nebbiolo…complex aromas, earthy fruit and herb flavors with abundant acidity and tannins, but after some time in the bottle and all the ingredients get in balance it’s nothing short of magical perfection. When we reviewed this wine the first time we included the keyword “Very Special Wine” something we only do when the quality is clearly better than all the others. We also keyworded it “Outstanding Value Wine” which we only do when it’s a screaming good value. Both of these keywords are our method of quickly separating the the very best wine values from all the others. As we said the first time it’s OUTSTANDING Nebbiolo and a fantastic value.

For our second review we paired it with a homemade pizza and it was SPECTACULAR. So, enough said…this is a fairly easy wine to find and we STRONGLY recommend the effort to purchase it. We guarantee you will love it and if your not used to buying wine at this price point, purchase it and save it for that special occasion…it will keep for years and priced way below its value!!!
