Tasting:

Opened and decanted one hour before drinking. Clear, light ruby color with a slight brown tint and the same color rim. Strong earthy smoke aromas with cherry, blackberry and a whiff of raspberry. Smooth, very approachable with a fresh and vibrant bone dry mouthfeel, light to medium body and a 200-grit texture. Powerful cherry, mushroom, cranberry, wineberry and tar flavors. Crisp acidity, well integrated fine grained tannins that were quite firm in the long flavorful, slightly sour cherry finish that ended with a wonderful touch of spiciness. The first two pours were a little rustic, but the third pour was elegant and refined. With its fine grained tannins and superb balance it’s a Nebbiolo that’s really drinking well. We thought it was OUTSTANDING Nebbiolo and a fantastic value.
