Tasting:

He said: Chilled before drinking. Pale oat straw color. Aroma…well let’s just say if there is one it’s the weakest Gewürztraminer floral bouquet I’ve ever smelled! Taste…smooth and creamy with hints of ripe apple with a fairly long semi dry, slightly tart finish and a bitter aftertaste. Enough said, it was disappointing…and since the Woodland Hills Wine Company only has two Gewürztraminers (this one and the Husch Anderson Valley Dry Gewurztraminer which we also didn’t recommend), when in California we’re going to have to shop at Total Wine for our Gewürztraminer!!!

She said: Medium golden yellow, clear well spaced heavy slowly moving legs. When you are looking forward to a floral aroma and can barely smell any aroma the wine begins with a minus. The flavor was a little better with a hint of honey. The wine had medium bodied with a creamy mouth feel but was not sweet. The finish was long but bitter and unpleasant with a bad after taste. Interestingly, the wine was reasonably good with dinner probably because it was cool and refreshing while the dinner was spicy and slightly hot. I have had many better Gewurztraminers, both lower and higher in price, and I would not buy this wine again.
