Tasting:

He said: Opened and decanted 30-minutes before drinking. Clear, dark garnet color. Plenty of alcohol and intense red fruit aromas. Smooth entry with a full-body. POWERFUL ripe cherry, blackberry and current flavors that were reminiscent of the wild wine berries we used to pick in New Jersey. The abundant taste carries all the way through the long, dry, slightly bitter finish. Excellent pairing with the strong flavors of the turkey Ruben and baked beans. We like Turley Zinfandel and this one lived up to its stellar reputation. You could smell and taste the hot, dry California sunshine in every sip. Simply a GREAT brawny Zinfandel.

She said: Opaque dark garnet red color, irregularly spaced thick quickly moving legs. Although initially a bit sharp on the nose because of the high alcohol content, the aroma was full of cherry scents that led to a mouthful of cherry flavor enhanced by a full-body and pleasing acidity and tannins. The wine was smooth, sumptuous and had a long fruity finish. A great Zinfandel at $44 that deserved a more upscale dinner!
