Tasting:

He said: Opened one hour before drinking. Slightly opaque, dark purple color with a lighter rim. Earthy fruity aromas that are loaded with licorice. Smooth entry, medium body (at best) with loads of blackberry and raspberry flavors and continues through the long finish that’s dominated by spice and tar. VERY ROBUST Zinfandel, but oh so fine and well balanced. It should also be noted that it was 15.4% alcohol and not a trace could be detected in either the aroma or taste. Great with the strong flavored and somewhat spicy Mexican tacos dinner and when the food needs a powerful red wine this is an excellent choice. Delicious rich and intense California Zinfandel.

She said: Opaque, dark purple color, lots of evenly spaced stocky, purposely moving legs. Beer is usually the beverage of choice for tacos, but I would suggest that Turley Zinfandel might be perfect. It had a very pleasant fruity aroma and rich toasty mouth feel that was dry, pleasantly tannic, smooth and full of fruit flavor. The finish was long, flavorful, dry, and with diminishing tannins. A powerful wine with our tacos dinner, but it would also be great with any beef or lamb dinner, barbecue or even dark chocolate desserts. If your looking for a good California Zinfandel this is one I would strongly recommend.
