Recommendation: OK (at best) Zinfandel that’s SWEET and lacks the dry, thick jammy fruit found in traditional Zinfandel (Not Recommended).
Winery/Producer: Joel Peterson; Ravenswood Winery; Acampo, California.
Grape Variety: Zinfandel.
Geographic Region, Appellation: California.
Vintage: 2013
Price: Unknown (Estimated cost $7.00)
Purchased From: The Village Tavern; Winston-Salem, North Carolina. (At a wine tasting dinner)
Paired With: Lentil soup, Asiago medium aged cheese.
Tasting:

She said: Dark ruby red, translucent, lots of thin steadily moving legs. Light earthy aroma is followed by very light flavors with a tad of bitterness, medium body, and a prominent sweetness. The finish is undistinguished. It was better with both the soup and the cheese than sipping alone. Very disappointing and was not a bargain at any price.
