Tasting:

He said: Opened and decanted for one and a half hours before drinking. Clear, dark purple color with a light reddish color rim. Intense cherry and raspberry aromas with hints of smoke. VERY smooth, fresh, fruity flavors that quickly become tart and dry through the long finish. Lots of nuances with this wine…hints of: pepper, licercious and tart currents. PERFECT pairing with the pork BBQ (in the cool August air conditioning) and a very fresh and savory Zinfandel drinking alone after the dinner. We really like Turley Zinfandel and this one lives up to its reputation, in spades!!! This was not as brawny as other Turley Zinfandels we have had, but it’s about as good as California Zinfandel gets and in my book it’s a fantastic value!!!

She said: Opaque, dark ruby red color, lots of thin rapidly moving legs. When I saw the Turley label I got all excited and this bottle did not disappoint. With the red fruit aroma the wine gave way to a mouthful of red fruit flavors with lots of cherry. The full body and smoothness together with the firm tannins gives the wine a wonderful mouth-feel that complemented the pork beautifully. The finish was very long and carried the tannins and flavors through the end. A great value wine at $40.
