Tasting:

Opened and decanted 90-minutes before drinking. Clear, pale ruby color with a lighter red rim. Light musty cherry and sweet tobacco aromas with hints of new clay flower pots. WOW, smooth entry, bone dry, tart, juicy and VERY invigorating mouthfeel, light body and a 100-grip texture. Tart cherry, cranberry and “Coca-Cola” flavors. Well integrated bright acidity, chewy tannins and a bitter medium to long cherry finish. WOW, WOW this had such light color and faint aromas it was unexpected when it exploded on the palate. By the third pour the aromas became more pronounced and it settled down and became quite a mature Nebbiolo. In the end we called it a VERY precocious and delicious Nebbiolo.

Note: I was a little surprised to fine a reconstructed cork in a bottle of wine that might very well be cellared for 10-years or longer.

The Seghesio family: Marco, Sandro, Uncle Riccardo and Michela...and a little bit of family provocativeness can be found in every drop of their wine!!!
