Tasting:

Opened and decanted one hour before drinking. Clear, bronzy ruby color with a lighter rim. Strong tart and musty cherry aromas with a rose floral and tar in the background. Silky smooth entry, a tannic and chalky mouthfeel like only a Barolo can have, light body and a 60-grit texture. Robust cherry and licorice flavors. Medium, but very well-balanced acidity, firm tannins and a long mouth-puckering cherry and tobacco tasting finish. WOW, there is nothing like “REAL“ Barolo…enticing, flavorful and with the most wonderful tannins, and this didn’t disappoint on any level. It was very approachable for a Barolo of this age. Every sip was delicious!!! It was a perfect pairing for the venison lasagna, but to be honest we could drink sip this anytime with or without food!!! Outstanding Nebbiolo that’s drinking VERY WELL right now.
