Tasting:

He said: Dense opaque dark purple color. Strong earthy bouquet with initial hints of alcohol. Strong dark fruit taste, slightly dry and hints of leather that finishes with strong tannins and acid and is tart, I would not describe it as smooth or velvety. Not bad, but clearly not great, and there are a lot of Cabernet’s that I like better…even at $15. It paired well with the steak…so we’ll have to see if the second bottle is better.

She said: Recommended by Wine Spectator with a rating of 90 this Cab was set up in our mind to please. The earthy bouquet did not disappoint nor did the complex mix of flavors. The medium body, medium tannins, and long tasty finish were an added plus, but somewhere along the way the wine did not quite meet expectations. And, better Cabs are available at this price point.
