Tasting:

He said: Crystal clear, dark ruby red color. Light-medium dark fruit aromas. Full body, rich fruit (especially blackberry) taste that continues right through the smooth long, dry, earthy finish. WOW, this was GREAT with the sausage and pasta…Italian food with Italian wine was perfect. It’s so rich from the mid pallet through the finish you can chew on it. This is not a flashy wine, it’s subtle and for only $12.60 this can only be called OUTSTANDING. This is truly what we call a quality wine for a bargain price.

She said: When we received some vegan sausage from our niece we decided to build a quick supper around it. First we decided on the wine and then we developed a simple dish. The cooked sausage was added to whole wheat pasta in an olive oil, garlic and Parmesan cheese sauce. The whole meal turned out GREAT! The wine with its wonderful bouquet of dark berries followed by rich berry flavors complemented the garlic flavored pasta beautifully. I wept when the last mouthful of the pasta was gone. When the dinner was finished the wine became the main event and it was up to the task. With medium acidity and lots of scrumptious tannins that lasted into the long finish, this was a great sipping wine. Velvet comes to mind as I let the taste flow over my tongue…delicious. This is a bargain wine at $12.60.
