Tasting:

Opened one hour before drinking. Opaque, inky dark garnet with a light purple rim. Ripe cherry and blackberry aromas with hints of damp wood, wet Dalmatian and an interesting nutmeg spiciness that fills the background (some whiffs of alcohol on the first pour). Smooth, medium-body and a supple 600 grit texture. Fresh and juicy with a dry blackberry flavor that dramatically changed to tobacco, licorice and tar through the long finish. The wine had a unique dusty character from start to finish that reinforced the flavors, extended the finish and enhanced the firm tannins. Robust, captivating and sophisticated Tempranillo that was simply FANTASTIC.
