Tasting:
-
Chilled before opening. Clear, light wheat straw color with a glycerin sheen in the glass. Aromas of green apple, lemon and the unique smell of mountain laurel (Kalmia latifolia) blossoms you only get when walking through a moist Pocono mountain glad in the late spring. Smooth entry, medium body and zesty, bright acidic mouth-feel, yet with just a tiny hint of creaminess. Flavors of Florida pink grapefruit, lemon, just sliced green bell peppers and fresh picked tarragon leaves that carry through a clean crisp and invigorating finish that has a slight lingering mineral aftertaste. WONDERFULLY REFRESHING wine with FANTASTICALLY well balanced acidity that really made the wine food friendly. Another Matt Bayless selection, inarguable hand-and-glove pairing with the dinner and a wine we would never have picked off the shelf without encouragement. An absolutely SUPER Grüner Veltliner that should be in every well stocked wine cellar.
