Tasting:

He said: Opened and recorked for three days. Served at room temperature. Oat straw color with orange tints. Overripe apple, apricot and pineapple aromas. Intense apple and honey taste with a wonderful dense, creamy full-body mouth-feel. The flavors continue through a very, very long finish with just the slightest bitterness at the very end. This is very unusual desert wine…flavorful; perfect balance of sweetness and acidity; and flavors that last in your mouth long after the finish. It was truly OUTSTANDING with the pumpkin cheesecake but EQUALLY GOOD DRINKING ALONE. It would be very easy to get used to this wine, it’s VERY SPECIAL and makes a succulent dessert all by itself. And, although not inexpensive, it’s a treat worth every penny. A true MEMORABLE wine!!!

She said: We have been having Madeira with deserts for quite awhile so this wine was a change. And, a delightful one. Less sweet and viscous than Madeira it had more of a fruity apple and tropical aroma and taste that gave a pleasant kick to the pumpkin cheesecake. Smooth and succulent the wine slides easily over the tongue without leaving a syrupy feeling. Wine this good isn’t cheap but with this dessert it was worth a handsome price.
