Tasting:

Opened one hour before drinking. Clear, inky dark garnet color with a lighter rim. Energetic and rich plum and blackberry aromas with glimmers of coffee and tobacco. Bold, a bit burly, intense and felicitous mouthfeel, medium to full body and a 80-grit texture. Complex, rich flavors of plum, current, blackberry and dark olives with ephemeral tastes of strong coffee and a gentle persistence of mineral. More bright acidity then expected, integrated yet grippy tannins and a long VERY flavorful tart and peppery finish that enticed another sip. Old world character and opulent tastes really describe this unusual, but seductive Syrah. It was appealing from the first sip to the last and its unfaltering combination of flavors made it special. We called it a captivating Syrah.
