Tasting:

Opened two and a half hours before drinking. Opaque, inky dark purple with a lighter purple rim. Spirited plum, black olive, leather and licorice aromas. Smooth, spicy and robust mouthfeel, medium to full body and a 150-grit texture. Concentrated and ripe fruity flavors of plum and boysenberry along with layers of black olive, espresso and tar all intertwined with peppery spice and hard rock mineral. Just the right amount of edgy acidity, surprisingly silky and supple tannins that developed and become chewy. The long finish was filled with plum, anise and spiciness, but had an underlying smokey character that really came out in the aftertaste. WOW, WOW, WOW, what an exquisite Syrah. It was alluring, tantalizing and luscious!!! “Hands down” this was one of the best bottles of Rhone Syrah we have had…and you sure can’t beat the local prices!!!
