Tasting:

Opened one hour before. Clear, light Brownish red color with a lighter rim. Thin, but fresh aromas of damp earth, mushrooms, sweet potpourri and ripe cherry. Smooth, dusty mouthfeel, a smidgen rustic, light to medium body and a 150-grit texture. Abounding plum, cherry and pomegranate flavors intertwined with a haunting mineral taste. Bright acidity, soft fine grained tannins and a very nice tart, plum sauce and licorice tasting finish. The dominating mineral taste was unusual, but really balanced the fruitiness and gave the wine character. Fantastic pairing with the strong mushroom flavors in the dinner. Delicious Italian Pinot Noir.
