Rex-Goliath Pinot Noir (2nd Tasting)

Recommendation: Outstanding buy for a red wine at $5.00

Paired With: Tortellini with an onion and garlic red sauce

He said: I’m in North Carolina and Vicky is in California selling a house (we recently bought another house closer to our California son). So for a short time there will only be a “He Said” review of wines. During this lonely period I’m drinking wines from the back of the cellar we have already reviewed or didn’t like and never opened the second bottle. With that said here’s a second tasting of a Quality Wine at a Bargain Price.

Opened 30-minutes before drinking. Dark garnet color. Very, very light dark fruit aroma. Fairly smooth fruit taste that finishes very dry. If it didn’t say Pinot Noir on the label you would be hard pressed to identify it; however, at $5.00 it’s easy drinking and continues to be an outstanding buy if your looking for a “Garden Variety” dry red wine. Rex-Goliath Winery has the chemistry of this wine down to a science. At this price point I’d buy it again in a flash, it’s GREAT for “everyday” red wine drinking and probably available in everybody’s grocery store.
