Tasting:

Opened and decanted 90-minutes before drinking. Clear, light brownish ruby color with a lighter copper colored rim. Classic and rich fruit, floral and tar aromas. Smooth silky entry, bone dry, concentrated and exuberant mouthfeel, medium to full body and a 60-grit texture. Wonderful flavors of tar, licorice, sweet spices, tart cranberry, plum and black cherry. Very fresh balanced acidity, bountiful ripe tannins and a LONG elegant finish that ends with just a glimmer of alcohol in the aftertaste. And, for a 15.5% alcohol wine it was hardly discernable. A very bold and exquisite Barolo that’s filled with lavish aromas, hefty fruit tastes and majestic tannin grip. We both commented “this was one of those unsurpassable wines that you just sip slowly and enjoy every drop.” This Barolo was the last and most expensive from the case of Nebbiolo wines Russ Anderson, at the Caviste put together for us…and it was clearly the “best” of the entire box. We called it Barolo that was nothing short of SPECTACULAR!!! The only thing we didn’t like was how small the 750ml bottle became and how fast the contents disappeared. It was truly a MEMORABLE Barolo.
