Opened one hour before drinking. Just at the edge of being clear, dark ruby color with a light brownish red rim. Fruity raspberry and cherry aromas with hints of fresh cedar shavings and chocolate. Very smooth with an off dry mouthfeel, 200-grit texture and a medium body. Quite flavorful with lots of juicy ripe raspberry and fruit jam flavors. Fresh acidity, soft tannins and a sweet juicy finish. This wine was a pleasant surprised for us…it was under $10 and it really tasted like Merlot!!! Excellent “everyday” grocery store wine that was an OUTSTANDING value.
