He said: Crystal clear, dark ruby red color. INTENSE aromas of wet leather. Ripe cherry, leather and fresh fruit taste that carries through the medium-length finish. With such a delicious bouquet you don’t have to drink this wine to enjoy it. In a word, this is OUTSTANDING, and at this price it’s a Quality Wine at a Bargain Price. An absolutely great balance of flavors, tannins and acidity, but I’d buy again it just for the bouquet.

She said: I don’t usually associate Merlot with Italy, but after this one I will. This wine is simply delicious. Dry and medium bodied it has a cherry aroma followed by a wonderful persistent leathery flavor and medium tannins. This is one of those easy drinking wines that is as good with the dinner as with the bittersweet dark chocolate that followed. This is a wine I look forward to having again…and again. It is very, very food friendly. A definite recommended bargain at $12.

Comments: We’ve just had four nights of local North Carolina red wines (MenaRick Vineyards Syrah; MenaRick Vineyards Touriga; ChildressVineyards Reserve Merlot; and MenaRick Vineyards Merlot.) and this Merlot put it all into perspective…an Italian Merlot that’s MUCH better than all these North Carolina wines, and at a lower cost!!!
