Tasting:

He said: Opened three hours before drinking. Crystal clear, rich ruby red color. POWERFUL damp earth, smoke and dark cherry aromas. VERY INTENSE fruit taste and a wonderful long, dry, dusty finish with layers of flavor and a slight bitterness at the very end. With the steak it was simply OUTSTANDING. This is a WOW, WOW, WOW wine that gets two thumbs up from me. Smooth, flavorful and spectacular aromas and finish.

She said: This is one of the wines we bought in Barcelona, and we brought it to the wine steward in the morning so he could taste it and give us his recommendation for pairing with dinner. He decided to open it three hours early and recommended the sirloin steak dinner from the menu. Our first sniff was divine with the aromas coming through to the palate. With medium body, moderate tannins, dryness and a long very tasty finish it was a delicious sipping wine as we waited for dinner. The medium rare steak and the wine together created a harmony that benefited both.

Comments: This is the first bottle from the load we purchased from Vila Viniteca Wine Shop in Barcelona and we both knew from the very first sniff that we had a real winner. This one bottle made the effort of carrying it to the ship worth while…and we and we still have lots more!!!
