He said: 1st Tasting: Sparkling clear, ruby red color. Strong damp earth, blue cheese and cherry aromas. Fairly smooth, dry cherry taste that continues into a long, strong earth and pepper finish. For this price it’s a GOOD North Carolina wine!!! Great bouquet, lots of balanced flavor and lingering finish that is absolutely delicious.

2nd Tasting: This is clearly an “OK” wine…nothing wrong with it, but at the same time it’s not memorable. But, would I buy it again…YES. A North Carolina red that’s dry and full of flavor. Not complex but very enjoyable and easily affordable at $11.25

She said: 1st Tasting: The fine characteristics of this wine did not blossom until the soup was done. Too bad because the soup was good and the wine was delicious but the two together did not help either. Nice dark fruit, earthy bouquet followed by light cherry flavor. Medium bodied, dry and with soft tannins the wine had a long finish where the acidity shone through. The fruitiness alone, however is a good reason to drink it. A bargain wine at $11.25.

2nd Tasting: We paired this dinner with a $115.00 French Pinot Noir at the restaurant and it was not nearly as good as this one with the left-over dinner!!! This Cabernet Franc was full of flavor from the first sniff to the last taste and was delicious with the dinner. With medium body, low tannins and medium-length finish the wine was smooth and an excellent pairing with the lamb. Please note that we are not overly impressed with North Carolina wines so recommending this wine is a genuine plus.
