Tasting:

We first had this four years ago (see: Domaine Eugene Carrel Jongieux 2015) and we’re doing a second review because we don’t think we did it justice when we tasted it in 2016.

Chilled before drinking. Clear, oat straw color. Wonderfully fresh grassy, apple and pear aromas. Smooth, mineral and a tad off dry mouthfeel, medium body and a 200-grit texture. Lemon & lime, Granny Smith apples and Bartlett pear all enveloped in dusty mineral flavors. Enough acidity to call it crisp and a long dry mineral dominated finish. WOW, WOW, WOW what a fantastic refreshing and flavorful white wine. This was a real treat. White wine that was fresher than a mountain stream in the spring time…and we could taste the limestone mineral washed off the alps in every sip. We liked this so much we went back to the Caviste wine store the next morning to get more…it was that good!!! We called it a svelte white wine that was a fabulous value.
