He said: Chilled before drinking. Clear, very light wheat straw color. Tropical fruit and only hints of oak and vanilla aromas and a smooth, rather tart mouth-feel that’s only a bit creamy, with rich honey, apple and ripe melon taste. A medium-long finish that’s just a tad bitter. To properly review this we need to say first it’s only $3.99!!!; next it’s very drinkable, food friendly and “not bad” drinking alone. No, it’s not fine Chardonnay; but at this price point it’s a FANTASTIC value in the grocery store wine market. And, I put it into our quality wine at a bargain price category. If this is your price point for California Chardonnay and your in a grocery store, pick Meridian Chardonnay and you will not be disappointed.

She said: Medium golden yellow, clear, with thin steadily moving legs. I have been drinking Meridian Chardonnay for more than ten years and have never been disappointed. Ray presents far more seductive wines for dinner, but I still like this Chardonnay. Although lacking in aroma, the mouthfeel more than compensates with its full flavor and creaminess. Not quite sweet, the wine has a long finish and ends with a slight tartness. It was not great with the dinner which was very heavy into strong flavors, but was delightful on its own There are no nuances or layers of flavors so it’s not a fine Chardonnay, but for less than $4 it is a great value and I will surely drink (and cook with) it again. It is a quintessential bargain California Chardonnay! I just wish there were Meridian’s in each varietal.
