Tasting:

Chilled before drinking. Clear, very light wheat straw color. Vanilla & oak, pineapple and apple aromas with hints of nuttiness. Dominating creamy mouthfeel, medium to full body and 100 or less-grit texture. Vanilla, pineapple and apple flavors. Crisp acidity, but, less than expected and a medium length spicy apple finish. Not bad California Chardonnay, but in a market where there are many excellent Chardonnays at this price point it gets lost without having something special about it. The food was simply OUTSTANDING and the Chardonnay paired surprisingly well, but wasn’t nearly as good sipping without food. Unfortunately we have been spoiled by the VERY DELICIOUS Sandhi Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay that’s at about the same price point. We called the wine tonight a GOOD everyday California Chardonnay.
