Tasting:

He said: Chilled before opening. Sparkling clear, light wheat straw color. Fresh tropical fruit, ripe melon and citrus aromas with hints of gooseberry. Ample mouth-feel, very soft edged, tropical fruit taste and an invigorating crispness in the slightly tart long finish. DELICIOUS!!! This blend has subtle structure, sumptuous flavors and spring freshness in a well balanced, refreshing white wine, at a ridiculous low price. I would describe it as an OUTSTANDING Sauvignon Blanc that is a FANTASTIC value for the price.

She said: Clear, with heavy legs steadily moving downward. The aroma has a pleasant gooseberry scent with floral-sweet fruit undertones that suggest creaminess. The flavor echoes the aroma but has no hint of creaminess. The body is light and the finish is dry and long with its tartness persisting. A fine accompaniment for the tuna and a beautiful sipping wine. We bought this during a wine tasting at the vineyard that produced it and enjoyed it even more with the tuna. Although in the New World tradition, the wine is definitely not “in your face”; it is far more subtle. The very low price tag was an additional bonus because it is a buy-again wine at twice the price.

Comments: We purchased this wine directly from the Beau Constantia Vineyard (see the post on our wine tasting at Beau Constantia) and consumed it in the Britannia Restaurant on board the Cunard Queen Mary 2.

Special Note: This wine was selected as one of the ten best value wines we reviewed in 2015, See The Best Value Wines of 2015
