Tasting:

He said: Opened 2-hours before drinking. Opaque, dark ruby red color with a brownish rim. Sumptuous cherry, damp earth and hints of floral in the aroma. Than get ready for a WOW…the smooth taste is loaded with cherry and plum flavors, firm tannins and lively acidity that ends in an seamless combination of ripe fruit, spicy clove, limey mineral, dryness and mouth-puckering tannins. This was a brawny, well balanced wine that paired well with the strong complex flavors in the lamb stew. How would I sum it up…this was a lusty Rioja that had bouquet, depth and richness that sets the bar at a new level. This gets two thumbs up from me…an EXCEPTIONAL Rioja Reserva.

She said: Opaque, dark garnet red with a trace of brown on the rim, lots of thin regularly spaced, rapidly moving legs. What a treat to have such a big, full-bodied wine with lamb stew! The aroma was full of fruit scents that open up to a huge explosion of flavors that were showcased by smoothness, full body and grippy tannins. The finish was long, full of tannins and flavors that lingered for minutes as it tapered to a delicate end. The dinner was not up to the quality of the wine but was a decent work-horse as the wine soared. An outstanding luscious Rioja at $33.30.
