Opened one hour before drinking. Opaque, inky ruby color with a light red rim. Lite aromas of earthy cherry, raspberry and the green weed seeds separated from freshly combined oats. Very smooth entry, lively, strong and a tad rustic mouthfeel, medium to full body and a 150-grit texture. Fresh, fruity raspberry and cherry flavors. Lots of edgy acidity, fine-grained slightly-grippy tannins and a long finish that was bitter, fruity sweet and smooth. WOW a very pleasant Rioja Crianza…easy drinking, lots of flavor, everything worked together and it only cost $11.00!!! We wish it had more aroma, but you can’t expect everything at this price point. This was a wine we really enjoyed with the venison, but it didn’t make a big enough impression that we’ll remember it if we see the label again. With that said…if your looking at red wines in the grocery store and see this one, buy two bottles and you won’t be disappointed.
