Tasting:

Opened 90-minutes before drinking. Opaque, dark purple/garnet color with the same color rim. Aromas of plum, damp earth, tobacco leaves on a damp morning, blackberry, cherry and olives. Unusually silky smooth mouth-feel that was very approachable, medium-full body and a 200-grit texture. Fruity plum and current flavors, but with an unfaltering taste of ripe olives. Lots of well-balanced acidity, plentiful firm tannins that slowly develop in the long, peppery spice, plum and just brewed hot chocolate tasting finish. This was truly a WOW, WOW,WOW wine…fantastic balance, enticing bouquet and savory flavors that continue to arouse the senses with every sip and a finish that could only be described as intoxicating. Great with our delicious (but humble) chili and STELLAR sipping after the dinner. This may sound like a strange comment, but on the last sip of the last pour I commented that the wine was getting sweeter…it was just so luscious and delicious. EXQUISITE Rhone Syrah!!!
