Tasting:

He said: Opened two hours before drinking. Very dark inky purple color. Light, musty and heavy ripe fruit aromas with hints of sharp alcohol. Dry, pungent, slightly bitter dark plum and mulberry taste that continues trough a medium length finish. There was a sourness that runs through the wine that conflicts with the strong fruit taste and is VERY unpleasant.

She said: Dark fruit with a hint of mustiness and wet leather in the bouquet as well as alcohol. No sunrise because it has a high alcohol content. The taste is dark fruit with little evidence o the high alcohol content but with nice tannins and a bit of bitterness at the end. The finish is dry but not long. When the lamb arrived the wine fared well, but when drinking alone after dinner it was disappointing.

This was the second bottle of this wine we have had on the ship; the first bottle was a 2013 and had a tad of sweetness in the taste but had the same jammy Shiraz fruit taste. We would not recommend either of them.
