Opened one hour before drinking. Opaque, inky dark purple with the same color rim. Sweet spices, cherry, blackberry and a touch of dark chocolate aromas. Smooth entry, chalky (or dusty), meaty and diverse mouthfeel, full body and a 150-grit texture. Blackberry, cherry, blueberry and fresh fig flavors. Medium well integrated acidity, soft tannins and a very long bitter blackberry and fig tasting finish. Quite a flavorful Merlot; however, it’s strong point was the complex mouthfeel and the long bitter finish that was so satisfying. We called it a versatile and easy drinking big and bold California Merlot.
