He said: Opened two hours before drinking. Opaque, dark purple color. Abundant plum, cherry and a little damp wood aroma. Rich cherry and raspberry flavors that just blossom at mid-palate and was filled with round edged tannins in the very long, slightly bitter finish. Well at only $12.60 this wine began with very low expectations; but it only took one sip to realize this was a BARGAIN wine that was very SPECIAL!!! We don’t eat much beef, as a result we don’t drink much Cabernet wine, but tonight both the pairing and the wine were great. Good juicy fruit aroma…with no hints of alcohol, dry, clean and delicious taste and a finish that was filled with flavors and was a perfect ending to every sip. I don’t know where you can get a Cabernet this good for only $12.60!!! This was a wonderful surprise and a true QUALITY wine at a BARGAIN price.
She said: Opaque, dark ruby red color, lot’s of thin irregularly spaced, rapidly moving legs. I love a bargain and this wine is one of the best in a long time. It is not often that you can get a drinkable Cabernet for $12 so this one stands out. The persistent red fruit aroma introduced every sip and lead to a mouthful of flavor that was accompanied by a dry, smooth mouth-feel and medium body. The finish was long and delicious with a lot of flavor and enough tannins to keep it lively and interesting. I told Ray to buy a truckload, but he won’t only because we can’t keep up with all the good wines The Caviste Wine Shop has to offer.
