Tasting:

He said: Opened 90-minutes before drinking. Opaque, inky dark purple color with a light purple rim. Intense ripe plum aroma with hints of damp earth. Smooth entry, fine-grained tannins, dry and moderate-plus acidity; flavors of rich plum and hints of cherry followed by a long dry finish that ended with a very long tart aftertaste. At only $9.90 this was an OUTSTANDING wine. Enough flavor and body to recognize it’s quality and the structured tannins in the finish really make it stand out. We don’t drink many wines that are under $10 and very few that we rave about…but this is one of them!!! Perfect pairing with the lamb stew…it was so good I’ll say it again, PERFECT PAIRING WITH THE LAMB, but delicious drinking without food after the dinner. Two thumbs up from me…a true QUALITY wine at a BARGAIN price.

She said: Opaque, dark ruby red color, irregularly spaced, slowly moving legs. If you are looking for a low-priced red wine to go with lamb this should be at the top of your list. The aroma and taste are mild and fruity with lots of ripe dark fruit. The mouth-feel was smooth and medium-bodied with fresh acidity. Although the alcohol content was 13% there is no smell or taste to suggest it. The finish was long with very pleasant tannins that liven the wine as it ends. The wine was delightful with the stew and nicely complemented the lamb flavor. A true bargain wine and a great find as a lamb dinner accompaniment at under $10. Definitely a buy again wine for lamb and I would love to try it with venison or beef too.
