He said: Opened and decanted for two hours before drinking. Clear, but very dark ruby color with an obviously lighter purple rim. Right from the first sniff you could tell this was going to be a special wine and it was a prelude to the symphony of flavors that were to come. The savory earth, tobacco and even a touch of floral aromas were clear and distinct. The layers of rich fruit flavors drew you in deeper and deeper with each sip and ended with structured tannins that were simply delicious with the rare beef. In a word I would describe this wine as ELEGANT. It was rich and concentrated but had a light, easy drinking character that really made it special. She said: Right off the bat this wine was a winner with its strong aroma and full-bodied
flavor. Ray decanted it a couple of hours before serving and there was a tremendous difference from our sip immediately after pulling the cork. The wine had a dry, complex, full body mouth-feel with many layers of flavors. The finish was long, dry, full of flavor and packed with delicious slightly grippy tannins. This was a special bottle of wine and I look forward to another such treat in the future.
