Tasting:

Opened 30-minutes before drinking. Clear, dark purple color with a lighter rim. Aromas of fresh picked red fruit, damp earth, mushrooms being sautéed and just a touch of anise at the very end of the sniff. Silky, a notch or two above medium body and a 200 grit sandpaper texture. Overflowing with ripe, juicy cherry, strawberry and raspberry flavors and way before mid-palate the supple tannins dominate with lots of fresh acidity continuing through a long mouthwatering finish. WOW, WOW, like velvet, but no shrinking violet…great aromas, wonderful taste, tannins that stand on their own and a silky tart cherry finish and after-taste. PERFECT paired with the venison and so VERY FRESH and EASY DRINKING without food. Drinking this wine was like being in the Alps during a cool Spring sunny day…it was just so unimpaired. This wine had a unique assured and scrumptious character that was simply intoxicating. We both loved it and it’s a no-brainer buy again wine!!!
