Tasting:

He said: Opened 15- minutes before drinking. Clear, dull ruby red color with a lighter rim. Light strawberry and raspberry aromas. Smooth, dry, dusty mouth-feel; lots of just-ripe berry fruit taste than a finish that had a dry tartness that goes to bitter. It looks like a Gamay grape in the glass, but it’s much dryer than traditional Beaujolais. With the blue cheeses it was OK, alone it was just disappointing, even at the $17 price point. Overall our experience with the Woodland Hills Wine Company has been excellent, but they have a very limited selection of both Beaujolais and Gewurztraminer…see our comments on the Gunderloch Gewurztraminer 2012.

She said: Ruby red, clear, lots of slow moving legs. I am not fond of Beaujolais and this one is an example of why. It had very mild aroma, very little taste, and no finish unless you consider a bad after taste a finish. The mouthfeel was a bit harsh, slightly sour, and light bodied. It limped along with the cheese but had nothing to offer when sipped alone. I would not buy it again even if it was the last bottle on the shelf!
