Tasting:

He said: Chilled before serving. Fairly dark oat straw color. Ripe melon, caramel and damp wood aromas. VERY smooth, creamy mouth feel with lots of delicious acidity. Dry, over ripe apple taste with hints of spice that continues through a medium-long finish with a very slight bitterness at the very end. In a word it was DELICIOUS. A perfect match with the grilled tuna. As we sipped the wine after the meal both of us commented that the taste was getting richer. So the next bottle will only be chilled if were drinking it on the patio without food.

She said: This wine is so smooth you hardly know you’re drinking it. That is both the good and bad news. The smoothness is amazing but the lack of flavor is disappointing. With a very light bouquet this wine offers delicate flavors of ripe fruit and a mild creaminess that lasts into the fairly long finish. Considering the delicacy of the flavor I think the length of the finish is noteworthy. The wine was excellent with the tuna and I would buy it again in a flash to accompany a similar dinner. As the dinner proceeded the wine got warmer and better, suggesting that over chilling is a detriment.
