Note: This year while in California we are reviewing a substantial number of wines sold in grocery stores. This review is one of them. To see all of our grocery store wine reviews look under the keyword “Grocery Store Wines”.

Chilled before opening. Clear, with just a slight tint of lemon/green color. Light gooseberry and citrus aromas with hints of tropical fruit and nondescript floral. Smooth, slightly zesty and fresh mouth-feel, light body and a 200-grit texture. Rather subdued flavors of lemon, Florida grapefruit and tropical fruit, but with a persistent Granny Smith apple background. Abundance of crisp acidity and a medium-length crisp and slightly tart citrus tasting finish. Although this New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc was not the typical strong gooseberry flavored wine it was quite refreshing and paired VERY WELL with the medium seasoned white chicken chili. We enjoyed it and for a grocery store Sauvignon Blanc thought it was an VERY GOOD value.
