Tasting:

(2015 Tasting) Chilled before drinking. Pale wheat straw color. Fresh, slightly yiesty and lemon aromas with the smell of old musty books in the background. Delicate, elegant, medium-light bodied with a 200-grit texture. Dominating earthy mineral, banana, melon and vibrant citrus flavors with hints of apricot, especially on the later pours. Brisk crisp acidity and a long zesty and flavorful citrus finish. Classic Chardonnay and if it has a flaw it’s that’s its so easy drinking it disappears to quickly!!! Superb flavors, spring-time fresh mouth feel and a wine that just oozes an aristocratic character. Jean-Marc Pillot produces wines that are truly noteworthy. We thought the Jean-Marc Pillot Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chaumes 2013 was a stellar wine and a good value, but this White Burgundy is an absolute STEAL, we would give it Five thumbs up if we had such a rating. A rich and elegant Chardonnay that was a FANTASTIC value…we loved it and wished we had more in our cellar!!! (July 17, 2018)

(2017 Tasting) The wine was rich and flavorful, but the diversity of tastes did not appear to be as abundant. There was a strong vanilla aroma and flavor that was not in the 2015 vintage and it had a creamy texture. In the end we both thought it was still rich and elegant Chardonnay that was a FANTASTIC value. (January 27, 2021)
