Tasting:

He said: Opened 30-minutes before drinking. Clear, garnet color with a light rim. Plenty of plum and cherry aromas that have just a tad of sharpness. An Intense flavored taste that’s loaded with peppery ripe fruit and mouth-puckering acidity. Than the finish comes along and challenges the taste buds again with bone dry, almost bitter flavors that go on and on into a VERY long aftertaste. This is ROBUST Zinfandel that really packs a punch…it has the ripe fruit flavors, an abundance of acidity, soft tannins and is clearly a BIG, POWERFUL Zinfandel. Excellent with the dinner and an experience drinking alone after dinner. If you like wine grown under the bright California sun you will love this Zinfandel!! And, I would say it’s good and a wine I would buy again. For us the 16.3% alcohol was high, but there was never to much heat.

She said: Dark purple red, opaque, with lots of fat legs moving down the glass. My first suggestion is OPEN THIS AHEAD. The first sniff is sharp but mild in scents. The mouth that follows is full of red fruit, very dry, considerably acidic, and with soft tannins. At first there was a sharpness in the back of the throat as I swallowed but that ebbed as I continued to sip. The finish was long and fruity. The wine was delicious with the dinner and even more so after dinner with Asiago cheese.. yum! As the whole sipping experience faded I found my mouth feeling dry as a bone. I really liked this wine and would buy it again. At $18 it is not a bargain Zinfandel, but if you want a robust wine with lots of flavor try it. The 16.3% alcohol really creeps up on you!
