Tasting:

Opened one hour before drinking. Clear, but deep, dark purple/garnet color with the same color rim. Light, earthy plum and cherry aromas with whiffs of licorice. Smooth entry, POWERFUL, fruity, on the light side of a full body and an 80-grit texture. Robust taste that comes on like a locomotive…ripe plum, current, blackberry, cherry and chocolate flavors, strong racy acidity, powerful leathery tannins and a long bitter and spicy finish. We paired this wine with venison and it was perfect, but sipping alone after the dinner it was a little over-powering. Delicious food-friendly wine from Northern Italy
