Tasting:

Opened one hour before drinking. Clear, garnet color with a purple tint and lighter purple rim. Damp earth, light blackberry and slightly spicy aromas. Smooth entry, dry with a quite soft and silky mouthfeel, medium body and a 200-grit texture. Robust and juicy blackberry, boysenberry and wine berry fruit flavors with a lingering mineral taste. Minimal acidity, soft and gentle tannins that come alive in the fruity finish that ends with a trace of chocolate. A very delicious and interesting wine. The mouthfeel was intoxicatiing…it was both velvety yet assertive. The fruit flavors were rich and intense. The wine had enough acidity deep in the bowels to keep it fresh. And, best of all the wine could be gulped or enjoyed when savored with tiny sips. We loved it and said it was a FANTASTIC value Dolcetto.
