Tasting:

Opened and decanted one hour before drinking. Clear, dark garnet color with a light purple rim. Aromas of fresh cut cedar wood, lush ripe cherry, blackberry, green peppers and a grove of Eucalyptus trees with whiffs of alcohol on the first pour. Smooth, rich, full body and a 400-grit texture. Strong fruity taste that’s full of ripe blackberry, cherry and current flavors with highlights of fresh brewed coffee and nutmeg. Lots of bright acidity, fine grained tannins and a medium-long, powerful, bitter spicy finish. Big and bold, but unusually smooth mouthfeel with unusual soft tannins for a jam filed “New World” Cabernet. VERY GOOD paired with the venison meatloaf, but a little much sipping without food. This is a Cabernet that should appeal to a large number of American wine drinkers with its robust bouquet, fruit forward taste and soft tannins that resemble more expensive Napa California Cabernet. In fact we like this better than many popular brands of California Cabernet Sauvignon and called it a good value New World Cabernet.
