Tasting:

He said: Opened 45-minutes before drinking. Dark ruby red color with a lighter rim and fine sediment in every pour. Leather and freshly sharpened pencil aromas that had a slight hint of alcohol in every pour. Smooth, juicy medium-body mouth-feel; plum and cherry taste that turns slightly bitter in the long finish. Not real dry, but full of vibrant flavors and tart bitterness that really gives it character. GREAT pairing with the basal pesto on the pizza. Not your traditional mouth-puckering dry Italian red; but a VERY DELICIOUS food friendly wine that’s a good value.

She said: Opaque, dark ruby red color with a few irregularly spaced slowly moving legs. Sharp aroma with a fruity flavor that includes a hint of smokiness. The abundant juicy dark fruit flavor was complemented by medium body, firm tannins and a long finish. The the wine and pizza soared together in a duet that I want to have again. Although not in our bargain category, I recommend it and would buy it again because it was so good with the pizza and a good sipping wine too.
