Tasting:

He said: Opened one-hour before drinking. Clear, dark ruby red color. Smoky and just enough floral to be able to say it was in the aroma. Smooth, but very concentrated and spicy mouth-feel with juicy ripe current, blackberry and cherry taste. Very long, dusty dry finish with soft delicious tannins and a slight bitterness at the very end. This is very special California red wine. Nice smoky bouquet that was a perfect pairing with the smoked beef, medium to full body, tannins that started very soft and came alive through the long finish. Without question I would say this was a MEMORABLE WINE that gets an OUTSTANDING TastedOnLine.com recommendation.

As an “Old World”-“New World” tasting we drank this Tablas Creek Vineyard Esprit (California Rhone blend) and the similar priced Marc Sorrel Hermitage side-by-side and blind. They were clearly both OUTSTANDING wines and when every drop was gone two of the tasters said the Tablas Creek Vineyard Esprit was their favorite and two said the Marc Sorrel Hermitage was their favorite. Both the pairing and the wines were MEMORABLE and it made for one of those very special wine drinking experiences!!!

She said: Dark ruby red that was almost opaque, lots of nicely spaced thin well moving legs. I was taken at once by the smoky aroma but the taste and flavors just got better and better. The mouth feel was medium to full body, dry and had soft tannins that were carried onto the long finish. A delicious wine with the dinner and I would buy it again in a flash, it was a very special treat.
