Tasting:

Previously opened and re-corked before drinking. Clear, brownish ruby color with the same color rim. Toffee candy, nutmeg, plum preserves and warm cherry pie aromas. Sweet, smooth, fruity, almost syrupy, full body and a 200-grit texture. Strong flavors of prunes, sweet cherries, caramel, raisins, butter melting in a fry pan and orange zest; crisp acidity and a rich spicy finish. WOW, a delicious Tawny Port that comes alive with heavy sweet flavors interacting with abundant acidity. The combination lifts the taste and is joined by a spicy ending that all really entices another sip. A memorable pairing with the ripe cantaloupe melon and at $18.00 it was a very delicious Tawny Port that’s a FANTASTIC value.

Footnote: Although the label was marked “Medium-dry” we both though it was deliciously sweet!!!
