He said: Opened 30-minutes before drinking. Clear, dark purple color with the same color rim (it’s one of the most purple wines we have had in a long time…even the collage label had a purple cast). Blueberry and blackberry aromas with just the slightest hint of lilies that have just been rubbed. Smooth as silk, plum, blueberry and blackberry taste. Than at about mid-palate it comes alive with delicious tannins and intense ripe juicy fruit and pepper corns all the way through the dry, dusty, long finish. Good with the dinner, but FANTASTIC drinking alone after the meal. An interesting transition from the smooth initial taste to the rich, dry mouth-puckering bold finish. It’s not “Old World”, but it’s a GREAT California Rhone blend that gets two thumbs up and a strong recommendation from me.
She said: Dark purple color, opaque, with lots of broad legs moving rapidly. To start, the dinner was too sweet and I would alter the recipe next time I make it. The wine, however, did well with the sweetness and even better after dinner. There was lots of dark berry in the aroma and the taste that followed. The mouthfeel was full of voluptuous flavors, dry, had a medium body and wonderfully delicious tannins. The wine continued the flavors, dryness and tannins into the long finish, but was a bit over the top in fruitiness for my palate. I would still recommend it, rate it a very good wine and buy it again.Comments: Learn more about the Orin Swift wines.
