Tasting:

He said: Opened and decanted one hour before drinking. Opaque, dark garnet color with the same color rim. Cherry, blackberry and current aromas with hints of floral and alcohol on the early pours. Medium body, fruity blackberry taste with lots of peppery spice from mid-palate through the end. Very significant dry finish that’s filled with firm tannins and spice that keeps going into a slightly bitter after-taste. EXCELLENT with the pasta, robust drinking alone after the dinner. This was a wine that grows on you and got better the longer it was out of the bottle. Like Zinfandel I think it would be great with BBQ or a hearty meat; but regardless of the pairing it’s a superb Primitivo blend.

She said: Opaque, very dark ruby red, regularly spaced moderately moving legs. The alcohol aroma of the first sniff was a bit hard on the nose but morphed into a
mouthful of juicy red fruit flavors with a medium body. The wine was dry and had a long finish with pleasant tenants and a touch of bitterness. It went very well with the pasta complementing the sauce with it’s pleasant acidity and fruity flavors. Better with the dinner than drinking alone. It was a quality wine I’d recommend at $24.30.
