Tasting:

Opened and decanted 90-minutes before drinking. Clear, dark purple/ruby color with a lighter muddy color rim. Quite powerful blackberry, plum, damp earth and peppery spice aromas. Smooth, exciting, zestful and spicy mouthfeel, medium body and a 100-grit texture. Blackberry, juicy boysenberry, tart current and nutmeg flavors. Plenty of bright acidity and lighter than expected fine grained tannins that slowly developed grip in the long fruit and spicy finish. WOW, what a bold, intense and flavorful red wine that was great with the BBQ pork. From the first sniff through the long finish it was noteworthy. We called it GREAT every-day red wine.
